Questions & Answers

Are my recipes approved by a veterinarian?

Through my association with the APNC, I have access to veterinary nutrition professionals for additional guidance and recipe review, helping ensure my formulated recipes are carefully considered before being provided to clients.

What's the difference between a Canine Nutrition Consultant  and a Veterinary Nutrition Consultant ?

A Canine Nutrition Consultant focuses on supporting a dog’s diet, nutritional balance and overall wellbeing through tailored feeding recommendations and balanced nutrition plans.

A Veterinary Nutrition Consultant  is a qualified veterinarian who has undertaken advanced specialist training in animal nutrition.

They can diagnose medical conditions and provide specialist nutritional management for complex clinical cases.

As a Canine Nutrition Consultant, my role is to complement, not replace, veterinary care. Where a dog has a diagnosed medical condition or more complex nutritional needs, I work alongside veterinary professionals and refer or seek additional guidance where appropriate.

What happens after I book a Consultation?

Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive a detailed questionnaire via email where you can tell me more about your dog’s health history, current diet, lifestyle, symptoms and nutritional goals. I’ll carefully review everything before our 1:1 consultation, allowing us to make the most of our time together.

Following your consultation and once the remaining balance has been received, I’ll begin creating your personalised nutrition plan and/or formulated recipes, depending on your chosen programme. You’ll then receive ongoing support to help you confidently introduce and implement the recommendations.

Can your nutrition programmes work alongside commercial dog foods?

Of course! I don’t only work with fresh or home-cooked diets. I’m happy to work with your dog’s current commercial food and build their nutrition programme around what works for you.

If I feel another food may be better suited to your dog’s individual needs and your budget, I’ll explain my recommendations, but the choice to switch will always be yours.

If you’re happy with their current food, we can explore ways to incorporate appropriate fresh foods and nutritional additions to enhance their bowl and provide extra support where needed.
